EL CAP CHALLENGE

This is a members only challenge-–climb 3,000f ft. in 31 days. Receive a sweet event sticker for completing the challenge & there will be prizes from Adidas Five Ten for some of the top times!

BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL

Since 2001, the Caltech Alpine Club has been a proud host of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. Stopping at over 550 locations in 40 countries around the globe, the Tour celebrates the winning films shown at the annual Festival in Banff, Canada – one of the world’s premier exhibitions of alpine culture films – and features epic films about adrenaline-fueled adventures, the intersectionality of culture and sports, explorations of remote landscapes, and more.

Every year The Stronghold sponsors this great film festival, so come check it out!

AMBIENT AFTER HOURS!

We are hosting our first AMBIENT AFTER HOURS—a unique musical experience featuring talent from our very own climbing community.

After the gym closes, the space will transform into a cosmic cave where there will be soothing sounds, an immersive laser show, and a tea bar serving concoctions made from native plants. We will close the evening with a Heart-Portal Soundbath.

Free for members, $20 admission for non-members.

SWAGAPINO W/ FILIPINUP

Join FilipinUp for a Swagapino themed night celebrating Filipino culture, style, and community. We’ll have karaoke all evening and a potluck, so feel free to bring a favorite dish to share!

Swagapino was a Filipino American cultural wave that blended streetwear, humor, and bold Filipino pride. Come in your best throwback streetwear, think snapbacks, jerseys, graphic tees, or anything that reps the Philippines. All are welcome!

MEET-UPS / RECURRING

CLIMB THE GAP

Calling all people who are interested in supporting current and future climbers of color, and cultivating a more diverse and equitable outdoors! @climbthegap hosts a meet with climbers of color (allies welcome!) to plan fun and impactful future activities and, of course, climb!

Free for Members, $22 for Non-Members. First time visitors to the gym climb free through CTG!

QUEERCRUSH

Queer Crush is a climbing meetup non-profit that creates safe spaces for queer, trans, and gender diverse folx. Come meet other queer climbers in a fun-filled night of climbing and socializing. Once per month at each gym!

ADAPTIVE CLIMBING CLUB

Don’t let a disability stop you from getting vertical. Drop by to participate or volunteer. More info on our website or @strongholdadaptiveclimbing.

Registration required. First-time visits are FREE.

ASL CLIMB DAY

ASL Climb Day will be held at The Stronghold Lincoln Heights on a monthly basis by Sonya (@deafclimber)! Sonya founded the ASL Climbing Network, a community of ASL climbers around the world.

Sonya often organizes monthly meet-ups at the gym, local crags, and Joshua Tree National Park for her Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing climbing community.
