COMMUNITY CRUSHERS '24 RULES

Our biggest comp of the year is back! Community Crushers is a fun team comp designed for all climbers, not just the pros.

Rules & Details

Category

• You must compete as an individual OR in a team of 2 – 4 people.
• This year, there is only one category (see below)!
• There are 4 comp weeks: October 1-6th, 7-13th, 14-20th, and 21-25th.
• Each team has a shared 2-hour session to compete every week (no breaking up the time). You can come in at any time to compete, but your session for the final week must be completed by 6pm on Friday, October 25th.
• This year we’re doing it a little different. If you are a team, climbing will be in a relay style: only one person from your team can be on a climb at any given time. Once your team member tops or finishes a climb, then the subsequent member can proceed to climb.
• You can add members to your team at any time (maximum of 4 people), but no dropouts.
• All belayers must be part of the team with the exception of solo individuals, who can have a belayer.

• To count an ascent/top, you must send the climb. That is, climb from the bottom to the top of the climb without falling or hanging. We only count sends!
• The number of tries does not affect your score, and no bonus points are given for flashing a climb (completing the route/problem on your 1st try).
• You can only top a boulder or route once per team during the entire competition. Multiple team members topping the same climb does not add any extra points to your score.
• Remember to double check your knot!

You (or your team) will compete in an all-around category with no distinction between bouldering and rope climbing! Boulder, autobelay, top rope, and/or lead climb your way through each week to collect points (see below).

Points

Each route and boulder problem will be worth between 1-4 points. Your team can decide how to acquire these points be it on the boulder, rope wall, or both! But remember, your team’s 2-hour session is shared and it is in a relay style (only one climber on the wall at a time). A team’s score will be tallied after the 2 hours and submitted each week.
