INTRO TO BOULDERING

In this 1-hour class, you will learn the fundamentals of bouldering, including movement technique, how to fall as safely as possible, spotting basics, climber etiquette, grading systems, and more!

FIRST TIME bouldering?

DECEMBER SPECIAL! Residents of Los Angeles County who are first-time visitors to The Stronghold climb for FREE! Come visit us any time this month to take advantage of this deal, and we’ll provide a safety orientation to help you get started.

If you prefer to get started with a class, good news — our Intro to Bouldering class is free for first-time visitors this month as well! To sign up for a free class, please call (213) 265-7475 and book in advance over the phone.

how to fall 101

1. Slightly bend your knees and tuck your arms as you make contact with the mat.

2. Don't use your hands and/or arms to try and break your fall!

3. Roll smoothly from your feet to your bottom to your backside.

4. Move away from the wall to clear the fall zone for other climbers.

1. If you're not climbing, stand clear of the wall to stay out of the fall zone.

2. Always look up for other climbers as you pass climbing areas.

Our Lincoln Heights location offers top-roping, lead climbing, and 10 autobelays.  Its walls for roped climbing range from about 30 ft to 50 ft in height.
